Gugulethu Mbatha (better known by the name Gugu-Mbatha Raw) is an British film and stage actress known for her role in the film industry when she was a part of the BBC series "Doctor Who", the British science-fiction TV series. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer in the year 1989. Handler was raised Reform Judaism by her father, who was Jewish. Handler was blessed with a joyful and healthy life being raised in a wealthy community. When she was 19 she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting profession.
